Dad was brought up in Barrhead, Glasgow and met and married mum in 1958. They had us four children (Dougie, Alison, Karen, Peter), but sadly their marriage did not last. Dad eventually moved to Corby and had two other children (Tracey and Dawn). He never really settled into another permanant relationship but enjoyed his life as a bus/coach driver locally and nationally. Ill health forced early retirement and dad spent more and more time golfing and with his grandchildren. He discovered Florida and fell in love with the place and would have loved to move there eventually. Meanwhile he made some friends there and spent what time he could golfing in the sun. Then became ill and slowly over a period of months became less and less mobile and he knew that dream was ended. He was a much loved dad, papa (Katy, Andrew, Laura, Kirsty, Lindsay, Jordan, Paige, Jack, Niamh, Molly, & Ben and is now a great papa (Aaliyah, Oliver, Jamie, Kai and Jessica). He died peacefully following a short spell in Northampton General Hospital. He is now resting with his family at Neilston cemetry.

How to work and how to play
For this I am so grateful
Each and every day
You taught me not to question
Things that were Gods will
I find this very hard to do
‘Cos I wish I was here still
I know that you are proud of me
You always told me so
And I love and am so proud of you
Although I’m sure you know
One day we’ll meet again Dad
I know that this is true
But I’m sorry that God called me home
That we’re not still together we two
